Single parents in the United States have become more common since the second half of the 20th century. In the United States, since the 1960s, there has been a increase in the number of children living with a single parent.
Are single parent children happier?
Children raised by a single parent are no less happy than those living with two biological parents, a study has found. Of the children living with a lone parent, 36 per cent said they were happy “all the time” while the remaining 64 per cent reported being happy “sometimes or never”.
